Collection: Vitamin E
What is vitamin E?
Vitamin E is the general name for a family of oil-soluble antioxidants. The types of vitamin E usually used in skincare ingredients are tocopheryl acetate and tocopherol.
What are the skin benefits?
Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant and often sought after for its cell restoration abilities. This vitamin helps heal acne scars and burns, as well as damage caused by UV-rays and pollution. Additionally, vitamin E is hydrating and a natural anti-inflammatory that calms irritated skin.
Since it is an oil soluble vitamin, some of the best ways to use this ingredient is to incorporate it into your skincare routine is through moisturizers and oils.
Who should use this ingredient?
Vitamin E can be beneficial for all skin types, however, it is ideal for dry skin since it provides ample moisture and helps the skin retain water. Generally, the concentration of vitamin E in most moisturizers, toners, etc. is just fine for oily skin types. That being said, a heavy oil-based vitamin E product is not ideal for oily or acne-prone skin, as it can clog pores and make acne worse.
